The much-anticipated box office face-off between Ranveer Singh and Yash has officially begun in North America. Advance bookings for Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups are now live in the United States, and early numbers suggest a strong start for one of the contenders. However, the race is far from over.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge Off to a Solid Start
As per trade tracking sources, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has collected around $13,000 in gross pre-sales in the US so far. The spy action sequel has reportedly sold close to 768 tickets across 154 shows in 113 locations.
The first installment, directed by Aditya Dhar, exceeded expectations overseas and emerged as a notable success in international markets. With that momentum behind it, the sequel is carrying significant buzz. Importantly, there are still 18 days left before the premiere shows begin, leaving ample room for the numbers to grow substantially.
Toxic Yet to Unleash Its Full Potential
On the other hand, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups has recorded approximately $3,300 in US advance sales at this stage. The film has sold around 173 tickets from 109 shows across 71 locations in North America.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the period gangster drama is expected to gather momentum as promotional activity intensifies. Yash, who previously witnessed massive overseas success with KGF: Chapter 2, has a strong international fan base. Trade analysts believe that once bookings open in more locations and marketing gains pace, Toxic could see a noticeable spike in sales.
Early Comparison: A 293% Lead
With 18 days remaining before release, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is currently ahead by a significant margin, registering nearly 293 percent higher pre-sales compared to Toxic.
However, there is an important factor to consider: Toxic currently has fewer shows available — roughly 45 less than its competitor. As additional screens and show timings are added, the gap may narrow. The true scale of the rivalry will likely become clearer once both films roll out full-fledged booking strategies.
March 19 Set for a Major Clash
Both big-budget entertainers are scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026. With two major stars, distinct genres, and strong fan followings, this showdown is shaping up to be one of the biggest overseas box office battles of the year.
For now, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar sequel has taken the early advantage in the US market. But with more than two weeks to go, the contest is still wide open.
