Yami Gautam Shares Emotional Reaction After Watching the Film
Speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2026, Yami revealed that she has already watched the film and described it as an experience that deeply moved her. According to the actress, the sequel goes far beyond expectations and left her overwhelmed with emotion.
She recalled that she had to rush for a flight right after watching the movie, which didn’t give her enough time to immediately express her feelings to Aditya Dhar. However, the impact of the film stayed with her throughout the journey. Instead of focusing on other tasks like reading a script or watching something onboard, she found herself reflecting on what she had just witnessed. Yami shared that she kept thinking about how to articulate her emotions once she landed.
The actress emphasized that Aditya Dhar has poured his heart and soul into the project. She said that his love for the audience and the country is evident in the way the film has been crafted. In her words, Dhurandhar 2 is not just a sequel but a powerful experience that viewers are likely to remember for a long time.
About Dhurandhar: The Revenge
The sequel is officially titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge and stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The first installment, released in December 2025, became one of the most talked-about espionage thrillers in recent years and performed strongly at the box office.
The second chapter will release in multiple languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam — aiming for a pan-India audience.

Reflecting on her husband’s filmmaking journey, Yami mentioned that Aditya Dhar has always been deeply committed to his craft. She pointed to his earlier work, including the blockbuster war drama Uri: The Surgical Strike, as proof of his dedication and storytelling strength. According to her, creating a film like Dhurandhar requires an extraordinary level of passion and conviction, something she believes Aditya possesses in abundance.
When asked whether any of her own films would be releasing on the same day as Dhurandhar 2, Yami responded playfully, saying that any official updates regarding the project should come directly from the director himself. She also hinted that she would be present in theatres on release day, just like other moviegoers.
Faith in the First Film
Looking back at the original Dhurandhar, Yami revealed that she had complete faith in its potential from the moment she read the script. She shared that she was working on Article 370 when she first went through the initial draft of Dhurandhar. Even though the script was only around 40 pages at the time, it left her emotional and speechless. She said her reaction alone was enough for Aditya to understand how strongly she felt about the story.

Despite the massive anticipation, Dhurandhar 2 will face stiff competition at the box office. The film is set to clash with Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups, starring Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas.
